I may get red for this but I think it's a special case that should be posted here. For some reason I decided to check my fw account today and was happy to find an available balance of just over $50. There's an entry for a $5 Bonus Buck earned sometime after 2005. I never paid attention to it because I assume it's been paid, since it was so long ago. But when I tried to cash out via PayPal, I got the message the bonuses can only be paid by check. Also, I came across this in the FAQ: Bonuses unclaimed by December 31, 2008 will be forfeited. You'll need to have at least $10.00 in available Cash Back in your account to request the bonus. So get to it. |
Moderator Comment: If you are trying to cash out with your $5 bonus bucks, please remember to request payment by check! One of the rules of the program is that we can not pay it out via paypal. A minimum $10 is required. Thanks! — Dec. 4, 2008 @ 1:36pm

Thanks for the heads up. I would've lost my $5 bonus if you hadn't posted. |

my understanding is the takeout deadline for the fw bonus has long come and gone. I thought the deadline was last year in august or September.
August 31, 2007 was the last day to make purchases which counted in the Bonus Bucks promotion.
If you did not earn $5.00 in qualifying Cash Back purchases between November 2005 and August 31, 2007, you did not qualify for the bonus. The pending $5.00 bonus and progress banner was removed.
Bonuses unclaimed by December 31, 2008 will be forfeited. You'll need to have at least $10.00 in available Cash Back in your account to request the bonus. Did it get extended FW Staff? I could have sworn it ended last year or earlier this year. |

I too have this $5 sitting in there but there is no action I can take on it. It just says status: earned. |

Therefore, one would think online rebates via Paypal would be encouraged but instead this issue discourages it. Odd! |

If I remember correctly think it was a way to discourage people from signing up more then once. Since they would only allow one per mailing address / household.

I too have this $5 sitting in there but there is no action I can take on it. It just says status: earned. Could it be 1) You cashed it out long ago; or 2) You don't have a $5 Cash Back balance from other sources (to make the $10 minimum)? |

Can someone explain how to "request" the $5 bonus bucks pay-out? I don't see any link available to request it. |

It's disheartening to see this email arrive in my inbox on 12/2 when there is no way to add 67 cents to my available Cash Back within 26 days. I just wanted to get that off my chest. Thanks for letting me know I am screwed in a roundabout way.
edit: phew, that felt good.

We are listening! We realize many of you are close to the 'cash out' level required to be able to redeem your bonus bucks, but won't be there prior to the end of the year. While we will not be extending the deadline of Dec 31, 2008, we are working on a solution for you. I don't have all of the details yet. However, I do appreciate your patience in this matter. If you would like more direct communication about this, or have questions about your specific account, please send me a Support Request. If you don't mind putting Bonus Bucks in the subject line, that will get my attention even faster. Charlotte Cash Back Supervisor |
